SPECIALIST SUPPORT WORKER BUTLERS PARK WAY (MEDWAY)
FULL UK MANUAL DRIVING LICENCE REQUIRED
LOCATION: Butlers Park Way, Medway (This is a perm role to cover a fixed term once the post holder returns we would need you will be placed in another location)
CONTRACT: Permanent
HOURS: 35 hours per week (3-week rota including early, late and long day shifts)

This is a person-centred role where you will empower individuals to make choices, develop independence, and take part in activities they enjoy within the community.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT:
Applicants MUST HOLD A FULL UK DRIVING LICENCE THAT ALLOWS THEM TO DRIVE MANUAL CARS. Many of the people we support have their own mobility vehicles which are MANUAL TRANSMISSION, and staff are required to drive them to support tenants with activities, appointments, and outings.
ABOUT THE SERVICE
Butlers Park Way provides supported living accommodation for six tenants, each with their own self-contained flat. Tenants can spend time independently in their own homes or socialise with staff and others in the shared communal area.
THE PEOPLE WE SUPPORT ENJOY A WIDE RANGE OF ACTIVITIES INCLUDING:
o Walks in local country parks
o Coffee trips and meals out
o Picnics at the beach
o Visiting attractions such as zoos and heritage railways
o Day trips and social outings
o BBQs and celebrations at home
Four of the tenants have their own cars, which are driven by staff to support them in accessing the community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
o Provide practical and emotional support tailored to each individual
o Support with personal care, medication, and daily routines
o Encourage people to make choices and be actively involved in their lives
o Help individuals access community activities and social opportunities
o Use calm, consistent, person-centred approaches to support communication and wellbeing
o Work together with tenants to maintain a safe, welcoming home environment including shared domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning
SHIFT PATTERN YOU WILL WORK ON A ROTA BASIS INCLUDING:
o EARLY SHIFTS: 7:00am 4:00pm
o LATE SHIFTS: 4:00pm 10:00pm
o LONG DAYS: 7:00am 10:00pm

o Is patient, compassionate, and reliable

o Enjoys supporting people to engage with their community and interests
o Holds a full UK driving licence that allows them to drive manual cars (essential)

o Manual UK driving licence essential confident driving mobility vehicles/people carriers

o Ability to confidently and consistently support individuals who may experience emotional distress, heightened anxiety, or difficulty regulating their behaviour
o Clear, calm, and adaptable communication style to meet the needs of individuals with complex communication profiles
