Summary

URGENTLY NEEDED

We are seeking an experienced, committed, proactive, hands-on General Manager who would enjoy working in an exciting, fast-paced environment at Jamboree Venue. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and uphold our commitment to cultural and musical excellence. This role is vital in maintaining the venue's reputation as a unique destination for live music and hospitality. Recently relocated to King’s Cross from its original East End home in Limehouse, the venue is located in a cobbled alleyway perfectly suited to its intimate, unique charm (please see ). At Jamboree we celebrate musical forms from around the world, while also providing a home for the theatre arts, cabaret, jazz, European and global folk, often accompanied by traditional dances.

Purpose of Job: To take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the business, delivering on profitability, service, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate must be a Personal Licence holder and have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.

* Experienced General Manager or strong Bar Manager ready to step up.

* You thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and have a "can-do" attitude.

* You are observant, and have the ability to think critically and efficiently.

* Strong bar-led background with solid cocktail, spirits and wine knowledge.

* Hands-on and comfortable working bar shifts.

* Commercially astute with a track record of hitting financial and operational targets.

* Calm, organised leadership style.

* A skilled communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, and a diplomatic, flexible problem-solver able to use own initiative.

* Passion for music-led, culture-driven venues and creating memorable guest experiences.

* Strong proficiency in Office systems.

* Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

* A creative, upbeat team player, you will be able to motivate staff and nourish a joyous, richly diverse atmosphere our venue is renowned for.

* Deliver strong financial performance through effective P&L management, cost control, and sales growth.

* Ensure all health & safety, fire, and licensing regulations are strictly adhered to (Personal Licence holder essential).

* Full responsibility for day-to-day operations, set and maintain service standards across bar and daytime trade. Act as the senior on-site leader.

* Creating a culture of high performance, unforgettable guest experiences, and genuine hospitality. This is a hands-on role where you’ll balance operational excellence with strategic leadership.

* Oversee live music logistics and events programming, ensuring seamless operations and an unforgettable atmosphere.

* Recruit, train, and develop future leaders within your team. Manage rotas and labour.

* Build strong relationships with local communities, partners, and suppliers.

* Working with diverse personalities, including staff and patrons.

* Diffusing potentially tense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues; ejecting unruly persons, if needed.

This post is full time and contract-based (PAYE)

Salary: £40k per annum

Start date: 1st week of April 2026 (negotiable)
