We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.
This role will be within our water and wastewater capital project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale capital programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be part of our Commercial Team who are responsible for the commercial management of the AMP7/AMP8 frameworks.
The role will cover three YW AMP7/AMP8 frameworks including Infrastructure, Customer Focused and Minor Civils clean and waste water capital works. Let under NEC4 ECC option A, B, C and E contracts, each individual project is under competitive tender with budgets ranging from £100k to £10m
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will include:
- Manage, assist and advise the on commercial influences around Cost and Value reporting and changes required to ensure profit targets are met
- Ensure cash is received on time and aligned to forecast targets
- WIP management, ensuring kept at optimum level for the contract
- To be an effective negotiator at both internal and client levels
- The production and presentation of Monthly CVR’s/Profit and loss accounts
- To ensure all work completed is accurately valued and followed through to cash collection
- To oversee the procurement and management of sub-contractor applications and payments and other suppliers
- Cash flow and aged debt reporting
- To develop and implement changes to process following understanding of a need to make changes to improve performance
- Management of the Early Warning and Compensation Event process
- Managing and supporting other commercial team members
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- Previous experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably gained within Utilities Contracting
- BSc in Commercial Management / Quantity Surveying or other related subject is desirable but not essential if you can demonstrate relevant experience within our sector
- Detailed understanding and previous experience of NEC contracts
- The ability to communicate effectively and work with staff at all levels
- Capability and desire to identify opportunities for improvement
- Full driving licence as there will be an element of site based travel involved within the role
