HAPPY, HEALTHY, HIGH ACHIEVERS

Due to the retirement of our current Headteacher, we are looking for a new Headteacher for our successful school. New Mills, in Derbyshire's Peak District, is famous for the Torrs Riverside Park, a dramatic gorge featuring the award-winning Millennium Walkway. Our school benefits from good transport links to Manchester and Sheffield.

We are a one form entry, inclusive and family orientated school, striving to continually build on our current strengths. We have extensive grounds with a focus on outdoor learning with a woodland trail and a Forest School.

Are you the person to take us to our new chapter, to build on the strength of our school story so far and to continue our journey? Can you lead this adventure?

We are looking for an enthusiastic leader who:

  • Can build excellent relationships with children, staff, parents, Governors and the wider community and promote a restorative approach
  • Is committed to excellence in teaching and learning with an inclusive ethos and promotion of a strong SEND team
  • Values and promotes a broad and balanced curriculum that meets all children’s needs
  • Will help children enjoy their learning while realising their full potential and connecting with the secondary schools to ensure a positive transition
  • Will promote the emotional wellbeing of staff
  • Will continue our strong commitment and partnership working with the PTA and the Peak Edge Group of Schools (PEGS)

We can offer:

  • A friendly and happy learning environment
  • Motivated children, dedicated staff and supportive parents
  • A well-resourced and spacious environment with expansive outdoor spaces
  • A commitment to continued professional development
  • A committed, supportive and active Governing Board
  • A wealth of extra-curricular sporting, creative, and residential activities.

Visits to our school are welcomed and encouraged, please call 01663 744453 to arrange.

New Mills Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
