Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to the retirement of our longstanding Curriculum Leader, we are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated English teacher ready to take the next step in their career. This role is ideal for someone beginning their leadership journey within a highly supportive environment. You will receive clear mentoring, structured development and the chance to help shape a well‑resourced and successful department.

English is a consistently strong subject at The Wavell School, where students achieve excellent progress. The faculty benefits from its own dedicated teaching block and a stable, friendly and collaborative team who work closely together to create an energising environment where both staff and students thrive.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic classroom practitioner who:

• as secure subject knowledge and a passion for English teaching
• brings positivity, resilience and a willingness to learn
• sets high expectations and nurtures students to achieve them
• creates engaging, enjoyable lessons that support excellent progress
• works well within a team and values collaborative planning
• is ready to develop their leadership skills with support and mentoring
