We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant – Sales and Purchase Ledger to join the Eastern Education Group. This role will involve close liaison with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders across the Group, supporting the efficient operation of finance processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate customer records, processing sales and purchase ledger transactions and ensuring financial data is handled in a timely and professional manner.

The post holder will be responsible for order processing and administration within Sage, raising and processing group sales ledger invoices and managing sales ledger accounts. You will handle and resolve sales ledger queries, support group credit control activities and KPIs, monitor and agree instalment payments and distribute regular sales ledger statements. The role also includes WAP administration, determining the correct VAT treatment of invoices, assisting with audit queries and supporting the Group Finance Manager with ledger-related duties, including deputising where appropriate.

In addition, you will contribute to harmonising finance processes and systems across the Group, identifying opportunities for improvement and supporting their implementation. You will be expected to work in line with the Group’s Risk Management Policy, highlighting any identified risks to your line manager. As part of the Eastern Education Group, flexibility is required and you may occasionally be asked to undertake your duties across different Group organisations, as well as any other reasonable tasks appropriate to the level of the role.
