The role could suit someone at the start of their career looking to gain experience in education, or someone with industry experience who would enjoy sharing their knowledge in a supportive college environment.About the roleWorking alongside our Engineering lecturers, you will help support practical learning in the workshop and guide students as they develop their technical skills. You’ll play an important role in creating a safe, organised and engaging learning environment.Your role will include:Supporting lecturers with practical engineering sessions and workshop activitiesCoaching and guiding students as they develop their skillsSupervising students during practical work and assessmentsHelping maintain equipment, tools and workshop resourcesEnsuring the workshop remains safe, clean and well organisedSupporting students in the use of specialist equipmentAssisting with stock control and maintaining workshop resourcesAbout youWe’re looking for someone with practical engineering experience who enjoys working with others and takes pride in maintaining a well-run workshop.You might be:A newly qualified engineer looking to build experience in educationSomeone with industry experience who would enjoy passing on their skillsSomeone looking for a role with a good work–life balance while still staying connected to the industryIdeally you will have:Experience within an engineering or construction environmentGood practical skills and knowledge of workshop equipmentAn organised and safety-conscious approach to workThe ability to support and encourage young peopleLevel 2 qualifications in English and MathsWhat we offer£2,000 market allowance in addition to salaryLocal Government Pension Scheme (or NEST depending on contract)Opportunities for training and developmentA supportive and friendly team environmentWorking hours are 8:30am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am – 4:30pm Friday.All offers of employment are subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
