Tree Officer

Plymouth | £15.56 per hour | Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm | Temporary

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an experienced Tree Officer to join a busy and friendly team based in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience working with trees, such as a tree surgeon, who is looking to move into a role focused on tree management and protection.

Key Duties

  • Assess the impact of development proposals on trees.

  • Review and make decisions on Tree Preservation Order (TPO) applications.

  • Inspect trees across parks and public spaces to ensure safety and proper management.

  • Oversee maintenance activities including pruning, felling, and planting.

  • Manage contractor work relating to tree maintenance and planting programmes.

  • Support initiatives to enhance urban biodiversity and amenity value.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with trees and plants.

  • Background as a tree surgeon or similar arboriculture role.

  • Good understanding of tree management and maintenance practices.

  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.

What We Offer

  • £15.56 per hour.

  • Monday to Friday working pattern, 8am - 5pm.
