Summary

In this role, you will carry out a wide variety of carpentry repairs in occupied student accommodation, buildings, and empty rooms. Tasks will include fitting various door types (including fire doors), first and second fixing carpentry, kitchen installations, ceramic wall tiling, carpet tiling, minor decorative works, and minor glazing tasks.

The Role

You will carry out a variety of carpentry and multi-trade repairs in both occupied and empty rooms.

Key Tasks:

  • Carpentry: Fitting fire doors, first/second fix, and kitchen installations.

  • Multi-Trade: Ceramic wall tiling, carpet tiling, minor glazing, and decorating.

  • Maintenance: Fault diagnosis and emergency repair response.

  • Safety: Adhering to H&S standards and maintaining a clean company vehicle.

What You'll Need
  • Experience: 2-5 years in building maintenance (ideally within an educational environment).

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 2-3 in Carpentry (or equivalent).

  • Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and the ability to use a PDA for recording work.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota.

  • Tools: Must have your own trade-specific tools to perform the required tasks.
