Summary

Secondary Teaching Assistant – Flexible short-term and long-term opportunities available immediately
These flexible opportunities are ideal for Secondary Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school environments. You will be supporting pupils in Enfield and the surrounding areas, helping them access learning and gain confidence across a range of subjects.Duties as Secondary Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
  • Support pupils with additional needs to help them fully engage in lessons
  • Promote positive behaviour and follow school behaviour policies
  • Help prepare learning materials and contribute to classroom organisation
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and good study habits
  • Monitor pupil progress and share relevant observations with teaching staff
  • Support school routines and wider duties during longer-term placements
Ideal Secondary Teaching Assistant:
  • Previous experience supporting pupils in a secondary school setting
  • Strong understanding of strategies for supporting mixed-ability and SEND learners
  • Calm, patient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils
  • Confident supporting learning across different subject areas
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Adaptable across year groups and varied classroom environments
  • Professional, reliable, and proactive
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
  • Willingness to undertake additional training and development
