Summary

oin our fast-paced Charging Team, as a Case Management Officer.
The Charging Team sits within the Revenues and Benefits Service Area, working closely with Adult Social Care to assess the financial contributions that vulnerable adults make towards the cost of their care services.

We are looking for motivated and detail-focused people to join us as Case Management Officers.

We are a fast‑paced team handling communications from a wide range of sources. The role involves supporting Manchester residents by completing financial assessments for individuals requiring and receiving care and support in both residential and non‑residential settings. You'll manage a daily caseload from start to finish, reviewing and prioritising any ongoing or outstanding cases, communicating confidently with both social workers and care workers, and vulnerable people who may be going through a difficult time.

As a Case Management Officer, you will:
- Use a range of ICT systems to obtain, verify and record financial information.
- Communicate effectively with vulnerable residents, their families, and a variety of professionals to gather the information required for financial assessments.
- Work to tight deadlines within a busy and fast‑paced environment.
- Manage regular customer contact through letters, email, and telephone.
- Deliver excellent customer service to Manchester residents while working in a high‑profile area and demonstrating Our Manchester behaviours.

This role offers a generous flexible working scheme.
Please note that most initial training will take place face‑to‑face at our office at Alexandra House, Hulme, Manchester. The location benefits from local amenities including a leisure centre, supermarket and free parking.

You must be willing to travel to Manchester City Centre for training and to other sites across Manchester where required.

About the Candidate

- Are able to respond promptly and courteously to queries from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, using sound judgement, initiative and problem‑solving skills to resolve issues in line with policy and guidance.
- Have excellent attention to detail and strong administrative skills, such as diary management.
- Can understand and administer financial processes and finance‑related information.
- Are willing to learn and confidently navigate systems such as Liquid Logic, ContrOCC, Academy and Searchlight.
- Are able to apply new learning confidently in your day‑to‑day work.
- Are able to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Can demonstrate emotional resilience
- Able to respond positively to change and adapt quickly as new information or updates arise.
- Able to handle sensitive or, at times, legal information and ensure all documentation is collected, stored and managed in line with Data Protection requirements.
