About us
We’re FBC UK – Fox’s Burton’s Companies – and we bake some of the nation’s most incredible biscuits (we might be a little biased, but we’ll let you decide!). Formed from the merger of Burton’s and Fox’s Biscuits, we’re proud to be home to iconic brands like Maryland, Jammie Dodgers, Rocky and Fox’s.
We’re trusted manufacturing partners to leading UK retailers and household names, baking across eight sites – from Isle of Arran to Dorset – and at our HQ in St Albans. Together, we’re a team of around 4,000 brilliant colleagues.
At FBC UK, we’re building an inclusive workplace where everyone feels empowered to grow. By embracing diversity, equity and inclusion, we create a supportive environment where people thrive and make a positive impact.
We believe learning is key to personal and professional development. That’s why we offer a mix of formal training and hands-on experiences, helping colleagues learn from each other and grow every day. Our people make us special. With strong community values, we celebrate authenticity, entrepreneurial spirit and teamwork – making FBC UK a fun and fulfilling place to work.
The role
Are you an experienced engineer looking for more—more development, more impact, more opportunity, and more pride in the products you help create? At FBC UK, you’ll play a central role in keeping our world‑class food manufacturing operation running smoothly, reliably, and safely. If you’re ready to grow your career in a business that’s investing heavily in people, technology, and the future of UK manufacturing, this could be the perfect next step.
As an Engineering Technician (Maintenance Engineer) at our Batley site, you’ll be part of a supportive and forward thinking engineering community who work with cutting edge technologies and iconic heritage equipment alike. This is a place where no two days are the same, where your ideas will be heard, and where your growth truly matters.
This isn’t just a maintenance role—it’s a technical position at the heart of a 24/7 operation where you’ll help shape the reliability, efficiency, and performance of our site. You’ll work closely with Operations, Technical, H&S, and Engineering teams, gaining broad exposure across the site and contributing to meaningful improvements that have a real impact.
You’ll also have opportunities to step up and support leadership activities, making this an ideal role for someone who wants to build towards supervisory, specialist, or engineering management positions in the future.
If you're an engineer looking for a role with purpose, progression, and the chance to be part of a growing UK success story, we’d love to hear from you.
