Your new role
As the Finance Assistant, you will support the smooth running of the finance function across purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking and month‑end duties. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in purchase ledger including matching, posting and reconciling purchase invoices
- Managing credit notes
- Handling supplier account queries
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Preparing and issuing sales invoices
- Managing daily customer queries
- Supporting credit control with outstanding issues
- Performing daily bank reconciliations
- Processing staff expenses
- Managing payment runs and the direct debit system
- Assisting with accruals, prepayments and month-end tasks
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
- Managing the shared finance mailbox
- Providing timely updates to senior managers
- Supporting wider finance operations as required
What you'll need to succeed
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar finance role
- Strong attention to detail and high‑quality work standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good working knowledge of finance processes
- Confident communication skills and a team‑focused attitude
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- A proactive, ambitious and positive approach to work
