Plus generous benefits, including: • 45 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays and efficiency closures) • Generous Occupational Pension SchemeAbout the roleThe College is seeking a suitably qualified health and safety professional to assist in the continued development and promotion of a safe and healthy working culture. We are proud to have achieved the Sword of Honour award from the British Safety Council, which is given to organisations that have reached the pinnacle of health, safety and environmental management. We have also been awarded a five star rating by the British Safety Council. As a Health, Safety and Welfare Adviser you will provide advice and support to staff and students on all health and safety matters, contribute to internal training events and internal audits of College areas, together with the development of policies and procedures. You will also carry out health and safety vetting and monitoring visits of work placement providers for students. A current driving licence is essential. About the personApplicants must possess a NEBOSH Certificate (or an equivalent level qualification) and have significant experience of carrying out audits and inspections, delivering health and safety training, and be competent in providing advice and support on a range of health and safety matters. About the CollegeWe are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us. Our wide range of education options span entry level programmes through to degrees, higher technical qualifications, and accredited professional courses to courses for professional development. Our apprenticeships can be studied from level 2 to level 5 across a range of different career pathways.
