Summary

Yard Operative - Metal Recycling

Tamworth Area
£13.01 - £13.48 per hour DEP ON EXP.
Monday - Friday | 07:00 - 17:00
Flexibility required for occasional Saturdays

The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Yard Operative to join a leading metal recycling company. This is a hands-on role working within a busy scrap metal and recycling yard, assisting with the processing and recycling of vehicles and metal components.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, working outdoors, and being part of a hardworking team.

Key Duties

Assisting with the disassembly and recycling of vehicles.
De-polluting vehicles prior to scrapping (removing fluids and batteries)
Dismantling vehicles to recover reusable components
Assessing metals and vehicle parts for recycling or redistribution
Operating equipment such as hydraulic shears, crushers, and material handling machinery.
Keeping the yard clean, organised, and safe.
Supporting with general yard duties as required.

Requirements

Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Counterbalance FLT experience desirable.
Mechanical knowledge advantageous.
Own transport beneficial due to location (not essential)

Waterproof clothing will be provided for the successful candidate.

Working Hours

Monday - Friday: 07:00 - 17:00
Occasional Saturdays may be required.
