Summary
The States of Guernsey are looking for a Senior Neonatal Staff Nurse to join the Special Care Unit on Frossard Ward.
The post holder will take charge of the Special Care Unit, coordinate care delivery and staffing safely and effectively. They will communicate effectively with the MDT, families, and UK hospitals to support seamless care. The Senior Staff Nurse will work autonomously and play a key role in shaping care delivery while maintaining a calm, professional presence.
To support and develop colleagues, acting as a role model at all times. Leadership is a vital aspect to this role, and the post holder must lead by example, promoting high standards of compassionate, evidence-based neonatal care.
They will be expected to lead a resuscitation before the Consultant arrives out of hours and must have the expertise to care for every level of the sick neonate. If below 34 weeks the Senior Staff Nurse must be able to stabilise the baby with the medical team and await the medical air transfer team.
