FJA are recruiting on behalf of a leading service provider in the utilities industry for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to strengthen their commercial team.

Quantity Surveyor role:
• We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Commercial team. In this role, you will play a key part in the successful commercial management of projects, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.

Quantity Surveyor responsibilities:
• Cost Control: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture, analyse, and control project costs
• Client Collaboration: Collaborate with clients to ensure business requirements are met
• Contract Management: Manage the main contract, including issuing notices and correspondence

• Subcontract Administration: Prepare and issue subcontract documentation
• Subcontractor Management: Assist in managing and evaluating subcontractor performance
• Payment Management: Oversee the preparation and approval of applications for payment
• Financial Planning & Analysis: Prepare project budgets, forecasts, and cost-value reports
• Mentorship: Guide and develop junior commercial team members
• Continuous Learning: Actively seek out and engage in professional development opportunities
• Positive solutions: Approach challenges constructively

Quantity Surveyor requirements:
Essential:
• Degree or equivalent
• Working towards or have chartered membership of a recognised institution
• Experience in utilities/civil engineering/MEICA sectors
• NEC3/4 Experience

Desirable:
• Experience of managing and developing an individual or small tea
• Knowledge of CEMAR
