What you’ll do as a Security Guard

You’ll be entrusted to:

- Carry out patrols, escorting duties, vehicle checks, and bag searches
- Operate CCTV and site security systems
- Respond to changing Home Office threat levels and MOD Counter Terrorist Response Levels
- Support the site mission by acting as first line defence
- Liaise with on‑site security teams and external agencies
- Comply with contract KPIs, local procedures, and safety, risk, and compliance standards

Main responsibilities of the role include:

- Comply with and contribute to the requirements of the contract and KPIs and the Business Continuity Plan.
- Comply with the Serco Policy Standards, GSOPs, CSOPs, LOPs and local MOD TCS procedures.
- Adhere to Safety Risk and Compliance objectives set by Serco Defence and contribute to their completion.
- Respond to changes in the Home Office threat levels and MOD Counter Terrorist Response Levels as instructed by higher authority.
- Act as first line defence to support the TCS site mission.
- Carry out patrols and escorting duties, vehicle and bag searches as required.
- Operation of site CCTV and site security systems.
- Liaise with fellow Site Security personnel and outside agencies as required.
- Working day and night shifts.
Requirements for role:

- Hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance.
- Hold a Security Industry Authority Licence (SIA) to include First Aid at Work certificate, however non-license holders will be considered if willing to undertake relevant training courses.
- Hold a valid Full UK
- Manual Driving Licence and willingness to drive company vehicles.
- UK Citizenship or Eligible UK Passport holder.
- References will be confirmed prior to Formal offer of employment.
- Good people and communication skills.

Desirables for role:

- Experience of working in a secure government environment.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suites.
- Previous experience in Security Role.
- Current SIA licence holder-minimum security guarding.
