Summary
Please note this is a fixed term position for 6 months (mainly during the weekdays but with some evening & occasional weekend work in line with the nature of the role)Working hours: 30 hours per weekInterview Date: Week commencing 13th April 2026We are recruiting for an experienced Community Programme Manager to manage Woking community centre and develop relevant activities to the centre.Key Responsibilities:To oversee the day-to-day operation of the community centres activities. Monitoring, evaluation and develop relevant centre activities, as necessary.Work with the Corps Officer and Leadership Team to support the mission of the Corps by meeting and identifying needs of the local community.Provide on-going pastoral and spiritual support to members of the community and work to further the spiritual mission of the Corps by providing a pathway for people to access and integrate into the Church.The Successful candidate will:Support compliance with all safeguarding policies, procedures and practices, implementation of all health and safety policies.Oversee the maintenance of the centre building, liaising with contractors.Looking at fundraising activities.Refer people to the local food bank.Undertaken appropriate duties to oversee the management of the team rota, recruitment, management, and the development of volunteers.Make connections with other relevant organisations and agencies.Experience of providing spiritual guidance and support.Experience of manging building compliance and financial and management skills.Communication skills and IT and working with software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint programmes.This role has an occupational requirement that the successful candidate must be a committed and practising Christian and will be in sympathy with the doctrines of, and supportive of, the purposes and the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army.
