Summary


The post holder plays a key role in supporting the theatre department to deliver safe, effective and patient‑centred care. They will assist with the replenishment of both stock and non‑stock items used across all theatre specialities, ensuring supplies are appropriately managed, cost‑effective and consistently available. The role involves regular communication with external suppliers to ensure required products arrive on time for scheduled procedures. The post holder will maintain agreed stock levels, contribute to weekly stock checks and ordering alongside the Theatre Stores Coordinator, and ensure the storeroom is well organised, tidy and free from hazards. All tasks must be carried out in line with Health and Safety and Manual Handling regulations to support a reliable and customer‑focused service.

Within this role, you will:

•Receive all visitors to theatres in a professional and sensitive manner.
• Maintain good communication skills with all stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationship with colleagues at all levels.
• Ensure enquiries or questions from surgeons, team leaders and theatre staff are dealt with in a courteous and helpful manner.
• Maintain effective communication with surgeons and theatre staff when dealing with sensitive information relating to surgery.
• Answer telephone enquiries, taking and passing on messages to the relevant teams relating to products.
• Prompt escalation of any delays with relation to the product delivery to Theatre Stores Manager.
• Keep theatre stores manager appraised at all times.
