Our client has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join their wonderful nursery. This role is ideal for someone passionate about special educational needs (SEND) or safeguarding leadership who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day management of the service, helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and high-quality learning environment. The role would suit someone with either a SEND qualification or Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) qualification, with opportunities for career progression.
Before You Apply
- You must hold a Level 3 Early Years (or above) qualification
- This role requires recent senior experience in a nursery – Deputy Nursery Manager, Third In Charge etc.

- Confidence supporting staff and contributing to day-to-day leadership is essential.

What You’ll Need
- Level 3 Early Years qualification
- Experience within a senior role - Deputy Nursery Manager or similar position
- SEND qualification or Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) qualification
- Experience working in a nursery or SEND setting
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Experience supporting or supervising staff in a senior role
- Ability to maintain organisation and oversight within a busy setting
What You’ll Do
- Support the Nursery Manager with day-to-day management of the setting
- Maintain safeguarding procedures and child protection standards
- Oversee daily routines to ensure safe care and structured learning
- Provide guidance, supervision and support to nursery staff
- Liaise with families, external professionals and safeguarding partners
- Monitor incidents, documentation and regulatory compliance
