We are recruiting three experienced Wiremen to support delivery of a 132kV Substation Renewal project in Coventry, working under the NGED framework.

This opportunity is with a major UK infrastructure contractor (client name withheld) delivering works within a live DNO substation environment.

Project Location: National Grid Coventry 132kV Substation
Framework: National Grid Electricity Distribution

The Role:
As a Wireman, you will be responsible for installing, terminating and testing LV, control, protection and instrumentation cabling associated with substation works.

Key Responsibilities:
Interpret wiring diagrams and engineering drawings to deliver precise electrical installations
Install, gland, crimp and terminate LV, control and protection cabling
Wire and test panels and associated field equipment
Support commissioning engineers during functional and pre-commissioning testing
Maintain accurate documentation, including cable schedules and test records
Ensure compliance with NGED and project-specific safety protocols
Work in accordance with CDM regulations and company HSE policies
Deliver high standards of quality, safety and reliability across installation activities

Requirements:
Proven experience working as a Wireman within HV or DNO substation environments
Strong understanding of protection and control wiring
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
Experience working within live substations preferred

This is a long-term framework opportunity on a key Midlands infrastructure project.
