Summary
To contribute to initial assessments of children seen in CAMHS Early Years in joint consultations by providing an assessment of the childs development, behaviour, social and emotional maturity and play skills, or otherwise help facilitate completion of the assessment by the Lead practitioner. Undertake outcome focused prescribed interventions, as agreed in supervision/case load discussion meetings, to advise and support parents in relation to their childs emotional or behavioural needs and to support developing secure attachments. Participate in referrals meetings and support decision making with all team member. To undertake additional observations and assessments, including behaviour, play, cognitive, social and communication skills of children, within clinic, nursery or school environments and home settings. Complete a professional report of observational findings to enhance the assessment and document on the relevant IT Systems in preparation for parents to be sent a copy of report. (Including liaison with setting, concerns, summary of findings, recommendations.) To prepare for visits to family homes so that appropriate toys or resources are available as required.
