Summary
The Senior Staff Nurse will play a key role in delivering highquality, patientcentred care within the clinical area. The postholder will demonstrate enthusiasm, flexibility, and commitment to maintaining excellent standards of nursing practice. The Senior Staff Nurse will: Provide delegated leadership and oversight of the clinical area on a shiftbyshift basis. Lead the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of highquality care. Ensure clinical standards are consistently met and maintained across the ward or department. Coordinate safe and effective patient care pathways. Ensure care programmes are delivered in accordance with Trust policies, professional guidelines, and evidencebased practice. Contribute to and support innovation, service improvement, and the advancement of evidencebased nursing practice. Work in close collaboration with the Ward Manager to support clinical initiatives and quality improvement activities. Act as a credible, visible, and professional role model within the clinical team. Provide guidance, encouragement, and empowerment to junior staff, supporting both their personal and professional development. Foster a positive learning environment that enables staff to reach their full potential. Demonstrate enthusiasm, adaptability, and commitment to delivering excellent care. Have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively. Show motivation to build on their own professional development and support the development of others.
