We have a vacancy for a SEND Specialist Resource Technician who has a range of creative and practical skills, and strong organisational skills.

The SEND Specialist Resources team, as part of the Specialist Inclusion Teams, provides a wide range of specialist and bespoke resources and support to settings and schools across Calderdale to enable them to meet the needs of children and young people (0 – 25years) with Special Educational Needs/ Disabilities (SEND) incl. visual, hearing, multi-sensory impairments, Autism and complex learning needs.

The resources provided help the children and young people to be able to fully access their learning, the curriculum, their school and community environments and to develop holistically and to their full potential.

The team work to specific time frames and very high standards, to adapt and create resources that remove barriers to learning. The team also facilitates an extensive library of resources, providing quality control and management of products, as they move in and out of our inventories.

We are looking for someone who is technically confident in the use of a range of IT software / hardware, with a working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and experience of using specialist software e.g. Boardmaker, Abbey Fine Reader, Photoshop etc.

Experience of, and interest in, Assistive Technology and Braille is welcomed.
