Summary

We are looking for a passionate and detail‑focused Senior Finance Officer to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys leading others, and wants to make a meaningful impact in a people-focused organisation.

Pay: £38,700
Hours: 35 hours per week, Permanent
Location: Swansea – Hybrid
Driving license and access to a vehicle.

About the role

As our Senior Finance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial processing and reporting across the organisation. Reporting to the Accountant, you will:

Overseeing the entry of financial transactions
Leading and supporting a team of three Finance Assistants
Contributing to monthly management accounts and preparing financial reports
Completing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring prompt transaction processing
Providing monthly payroll cover
Preparing VAT and statutory returns
Delivering Excel‑based analysis and financial modelling
Improving processes and enhancing service delivery
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation
This role is ideal for a motivated Senior Finance Officer who enjoys taking ownership and delivering high‑quality financial work.

About You

You’ll be a people‑centred, organised and proactive individual with:

Experience in financial transaction processing and reporting
Strong leadership and team‑management skills
Excellent Excel skills and confidence with financial modelling
Payroll experience including HMRC submissions
AAT Level 4 or part‑qualified accountant status
A commitment to equality, inclusion and continuous improvement
We welcome previous experience working as:
Finance Officer, Assistant Accountant, Payroll Officer, Accounts Supervisor, Management Accounts Assistant, Team Leader in Finance, or any other role with relevant transferable skills.
