Summary

Arden Enterprises Group LLP is a family business based on the incredible vibrant Tatton Estate between Knutsford and Altrincham in Cheshire. We manage a diverse portfolio of businesses such as; residential, commercial and event venues.

Job Purpose

We are currently seeking a hardworking and versatile Gardener and Handyman to join our team and support the year-round maintenance of the extensive gardens, landscaped grounds, lawns, woodlands, and facilities of a private estate.

About the Role

This is a permanent, hands-on, full-time role (either Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday with two consecutive days off) requiring reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude, and working in all kinds of weather. The successful candidate will be comfortable working within a traditional estate hierarchy, following instructions, respecting established routines, and contributing effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for but not limited to:

Maintaining the estate grounds and gardens to consistently high standards.
Meticulous weeding, mowing, strimming, hedge cutting, and leaf clearance.
Supporting general maintenance across the estate, including decorating, fencing, DIY, groundwork, and moving furniture.
Assisting with landscape management, planting, and tree work (chainsaw experience advantageous).
Driving estate vehicles (cars, vans, tractors) and carrying out errands, including occasional long-distance driving and family errands (e.g. school runs).
Ensuring all gardening machinery and tools are maintained in safe and excellent working order.

Experience:

Previous experience in gardening, groundskeeping, or general estate maintenance - 2 Years
Competence with garden machinery (e.g. ride-on mowers, hedge cutters, strimmer's, tractors).
Comfortable working around animals (including horses) and children – a DBS check will be required.
Full UK driving licence and confidence in driving long distances and at night.
License/Certification:

Full Driving Licence (Essential)
Full chainsaw licence (Desirable)
CS30 and CS31 Tree Felling and Maintenance (Desirable)
CS38 Tree Climbing and Aerial Rescue (Desirable)
Work Location: In person working across the whole Estate spanning across WA16 and WA14 postcodes.
