About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SENDCo with a strong commitment to Nurture Education to join our inclusive school in Knowsley, Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner looking for a part-time (2 days per week) role within a supportive, values-led school.
You will lead SEND provision with a strong focus on nurture, inclusion, and trauma-informed practice, supporting pupils with SEND, particularly those with SEMH and additional needs, to thrive both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Fulfil the statutory duties of the SENCO role in line with the SEND Code of Practice
- Lead and manage SEND provision with a nurture-based approach
- Embed nurture principles and trauma-informed practice across the school
- Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies
- Oversee EHCP processes, annual reviews, and provision planning
- Support and develop staff through training and guidance
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND interventions
We Are Looking for Someone Who
- Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (or is willing to work towards it)
- Has strong experience of SEND, particularly SEMH, attachment, and trauma
- Is committed to inclusive, child-centred practice
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
