Summary
SEN Teaching Assistant
Location - Manchester (M18)
Pay - £95-£110 per day, depending on experience
Start date - 09/03/2026
Contract Type - Full-Time, Long-Term
Hours - Monday to Friday, 9:30am-3:30pm
Are you a kind and compassionate teaching assistant with previous experience supporting young people with SEN? We are currently working with a large SEN provision in Gorton to recruit for SEN teaching assistants.
About the School:
The school is an OFSTED rated Outstanding SEN secondary school. The school caters for pupils aged between 11-19, with complex learning needs and autism.
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Work alongside the class teacher, preparing fun and engaging learning resources
- Maintain regular communication with the class teacher and external agencies to monitor progress and development
- Build strong rapport with the pupils, parents and other staff members
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Up to date Safeguarding training within the last year (desired but training can be provided)
- Previous personal or professional experience supporting SEN is highly desired. This can be in a school or care settings
- A kind and compassionate approach to supporting young people
To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional references
