Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs?
We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join the SEN provision at a welcoming Primary School in Aston, working closely with pupils diagnosed with autism, ADHD, non-verbal communication needs, and SEMH. This is a rewarding, long-term opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive, and committed to helping children thrive both academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support within the SEN provision
- Support pupils with autism, ADHD, non-verbal needs and SEMH
- Use visual aids, structured routines, and sensory strategies
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
What We're Looking For:
- Experience supporting SEND pupils in a primary or SEN setting
- Confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm manner
- Confidence supporting non-verbal communication (PECS, visuals, Makaton beneficial)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for inclusive education
