Prospero Teaching are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Class Teacher to work in one of our inspirational SEND Schools in Durham on a full-time and long-term basis to start ASAP. Applications from ECTs are welcome to apply. The School supports pupils across the Primary and Secondary age range with a wide-range of learning disabilities as well as physical disabilities.
About the Role:
- The role will involve planning and delivering lessons to small classes of pupils with a wide range of SEND and challenging behaviour, including Severe Learning Difficulties, ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
- Some pupils may be none-verbal or pre-verbal, so the relationship-building skills and resilience of the successful candidate will be key.
- Stretching and challenging the learning and progress all pupils
- Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
- A key part of the role will be to differentiate lessons appropriately and work effectively alongside other members of staff to ensure all pupils are able to make progress and are taught in a way that is suited to their individual needs and learning styles.
