Summary
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Conwy to assist with the appointment of a Finance Accountancy Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £13.86 - £18.12 per hour
Summary:
The Finance Accountancy Officer will provide a comprehensive range of financial support services to Headteachers and Governing Bodies within the Corporate Finance (School Support) service. The role supports the Principal Accountant (Schools) in delivering Service Level Agreements to schools, assisting with budgeting, financial monitoring, reporting, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards.
Responsibilities:
Provide financial support to the Principal Accountant (Schools) in delivering the school finance service in line with Service Level Agreements.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for Primary, Secondary and Special schools within the Authority.
Support the year-end financial process including the closure of accounts and preparation of final accounts.
Assist in preparing financial forecasts and projections to help schools maximise effective use of resources.
Visit schools regularly to provide financial advice, discuss budgets, interpret financial reports and resolve administrative issues.
Investigate and respond to financial queries from schools, contractors, suppliers and internal departments.
Qualification:
Association of Accounting Technicians qualification (equivalent or part qualified)
Essentials:
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Good accountancy and numeracy skills.
Ability to plan and manage workload independently while meeting strict deadlines.
Experience working with financial systems and IT tools including spreadsheets and databases.
