Summary
St Mary’s Under Fives are looking for a Senior Room Leader to join a friendly and small team at a pre-school setting within the grounds of a local primary school in Marlborough. We were rated Good on our last Ofsted Inspection. We are looking for someone who is able to demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to lead a team under the direction of the pre-school Manager. We provide childcare for children aged 2 years to 5 years.
Role expectations:
• To deliver and ensure a high standard of learning, development and care for children.
• To work co-cooperatively with the Manager
• To manage the day to day running of the room
• To act as an excellent role model to the staff team, being able to showcase high quality practice in all areas
• To support and lead your team in planning and providing appropriate daily activities in line with guidance form the EYFS
• To manage and supervise observation, assessment and planning in the room, ensuring all children are making progress
• To uphold the highest level of safeguarding practice and ensure company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
• To build and maintain strong partnerships with parents.
• You will be a keyperson for a group of children including recording and tracking their learning and development
Qualifications:
Essential:
• Level 3 Diploma for Children & Young People’s Workforce or equivalent
• Maths and English GCSE grade C or above
• Good administration skills and experience with Microsoft office
• Excellent knowledge of EYFS
Desirable:
• Paediatric First Aid
• Food Hygiene
• Basic Safeguarding
We take safeguarding children very seriously and you will be expected to complete a DBS application before the job commences.
We would expect staff to work flexible hours depending on the needs of the pre-school and this can be agreed upon during the Interview process. The working hours of pre-school are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:15pm. Staff also get paid overtime for any staff meetings. The position is term time only (38weeks of the year).
