Summary
Join Mencap as a Community Support Worker in Rotherham!
We're looking for caring, committed individuals to join our support team to help people with learning disabilities within the community. You'll help with daily tasks, personal care, medication, and activities—making a real difference every day.
If you're passionate about empowering others and want a rewarding role, we’d love to hear from you!
You will drive to some of the fantastic people we support in the Rotherham community and assist them with their daily lives in their homes.
Full UK driving licence with business insurance will be required for the role as you will need to drive your own vehicle. Mileage paid at 45p per mile.
Qualities and Skills Required:
- Relationship Building: Essential for gaining the trust of the people we support, establishing open communication, and building lasting relationships.
- Patience and Understanding: Important for navigating challenging situations effectively.
- Conflict-Resolution Techniques: Necessary for managing and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence.
What we're looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Experience within support work is preferred not essential.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, some weekends and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- People who enjoy interactivity with the people we support.
Contract options:
- Part time (20-30 hours per week)
Shifts:
- Vary between 07:00-23:00 (most shifts between 08:00-18:00 Monday-Friday)
- Weekend work is rare however you must be flexible to cover.
