Job Vacancy: Personal Support Worker - South Bristol - 4 to 16 hrs per week (hours negotiable) £13.45 per hour. April start.Personal Support Worker required for a 46 yr old female living with complex-PTSD and chronic illness.This post will be based in her home on the edge of South Bristol, and out and about in the community and surrounding areas.Hours are negotiable: minimum 4 hrs one day per week, up to a maximum of 16hrs per week spread over 3 or 4 days.Working days are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays.Job description:· Providing emotional and practical support within the home· Organising and facilitating day trips into nature and to places of interest· Supporting client to declutter, organise and clean home and garden· Supporting hobbies, activities and other interests· Assisting with, providing transport for, and being an advocate during hospital and other medical appointments· Assisting with life and home admin (e.g. filling forms, creating budgets, making referrals, making phone-calls, finding and booking tradespeople, making lists, meal planning, organising tasks)· Facilitating creativity (art, craft, music), time in nature, and social connections· Supporting client’s personal care, mental and physical health - prompting and assisting to pace, rest, and be mindful of cognitive and physical burnoutRequired attributes:· Full Clean driving license. Calm and confident driving ability.· Training or qualifications in any: trauma-informed care, counselling, mental health, psychology, therapy, ethical boundaries, or other course or training that evidences your ability to work in a trauma-informed way.· Comfortable working in an environment with cats and have knowledge on how to be mindful of their safety and wellbeing.· Strong and fit and able to undertake physical activities. Good spacial awareness.· Ability to “hold space”· Knowledge and understanding of fatigue and pacing· Understanding of infection control within a home environment· Good communication and listening skills· Ability to lead or follow as required, with the discernment to provide direction when appropriate whilst empowering client autonomy· Experience working in a professional capacity with people who have experienced trauma· Flexibility to work around client’s changing weekly schedule· Own car with business insurance is desirable. Mileage during working hours will be paid at 45p/mile (commuting miles are not claimable)Desirable Personal Qualities:Intuitive, compassionate, patient, accommodating, respectful, kind, trustworthy, reliable, caring, ability to hold boundaries and remain professional.
