• Salary: £26,409 - £28,624 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
• Actual Salary (*before sleep-in) : £16,965 - £18,388 per annum
• This role carries an additional rate for sleep-in, and a £1,500 Joining Bonus*


We are seeking a Residential Activities and Child Care Officer (RACCO) to join our dedicated team supporting children and young people with complex moderate learning difficulties, including ASD, in a residential setting. This role involves contributing to a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that promotes students wellbeing, personal development, and independence.

As a RACCO, you will support the delivery of a residential curriculum focused on life skills, social integration, and emotional resilience. Responsibilities include key working duties, maintaining care plans and risk assessments, facilitating daily routines, and organising meaningful activities that enhance the residential experience. You will also contribute to termly reporting and participate in reviews concerning individual student progress, while ensuring compliance with academy policies and OFSTED standards.

A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is desirable but not essential; however, you will be required to work towards this qualification upon successful completion of your induction and probation period. The role includes sleeping-in duties on a rota basis and requires a strong commitment to safeguarding, teamwork, and maintaining high standards of care.

* Bonus will be paid as £750 at the end of first month of employment and £750 after six months completed service. The entire sum will be repayable if you leave within the first two years of service. This only applies to direct applicants and not to those staff who come through an agency. Internal college policy applies.
