Summary
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a mainstream primary school in Tower Hamlets, for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with challenging behaviour and ASD.
The ideal candidate will be patient, resilient, and skilled at supporting pupils with complex needs. While the role is in a mainstream setting, experience in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) would be highly beneficial.
Key responsibilities:
•
Providing 1:1 support to a pupil with challenging behaviour and ASD
•
Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour, independence, and learning
•
Assisting classroom staff with differentiated learning and resources
•
Observing, monitoring, and recording pupil progress
•
Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
We are looking for someone who:
•
Has experience supporting children with ASD and challenging behaviour
•
Is resilient, patient, and adaptable
•
Has PRU experience (desirable)
•
Works well in a team and communicates effectively
•
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
