Job Title: Paint Shop Manager
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Location: Coventry
An established precision engineering and manufacturing company based in Coventry is seeking an experienced Paint Shop Manager to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the paint and finishing department.
This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality finishing standards, efficient workflow, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The successful candidate will lead the paint shop team, optimise production processes, and ensure components meet strict quality standards within a high-performance engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities-
Manage and supervise the daily operations of the paint shop, ensuring production targets are met.

Lead, train, and develop a team of paint technicians and operators.

Ensure high-quality paint finishes in line with company and customer standards.

Plan and coordinate work schedules and workload distribution within the department.

Monitor paint processes, curing cycles, and finishing procedures to maintain consistency and quality.

Maintain and improve health, safety, and environmental compliance within the paint shop.

Manage materials, paint inventory, and equipment maintenance.

Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve finishing issues.

Implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Ensure all work is completed within production deadlines and quality expectations.
Requirements-
Proven experience in paint shop management or supervision within manufacturing, automotive, or engineering environments.

Strong knowledge of industrial paint systems, coatings, and finishing processes.

Experience managing teams in a production or manufacturing setting.

Good understanding of health & safety regulations and environmental standards related to paint operations.

Ability to plan workloads, manage deadlines, and improve operational efficiency.

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Experience-
Experience within automotive, motorsport, or precision engineering environments.

Knowledge of powder coating, wet paint systems, and surface preparation techniques.

Experience working within ISO or high-quality manufacturing environments.
