Summary
Patient Safety and Risk Management Review and investigate patient safety incidents, escalate issues as necessary. Support staff and families involved in incidents with compassionate engagement. Promote a no-blame culture while ensuring learning from incidents is shared through safety huddles and reports. Monitor and maintain compliance with PSIRF and other relevant safety frameworks. Lead improvement and transformation projects aligned with local and national initiatives. Ensure adherence to Trust risk management policies and proactively address hazards or incidents. Education, Training, and Staff Development Lead teaching, supervision, and mentorship for nursing and multidisciplinary staff. Organise study days and training sessions on patient safety and incident management. Monitor staff performance, identifying and addressing training needs. Support clinical education of patients and staff via specialist nurse input. Audit, Research, and Quality Improvement Initiate and participate in audits, research, and benchmarking activities. Maintain service databases and produce activity reports. Promote evidence-based practice and support quality improvement initiatives. Develop tools to audit specialist areas of practice and evaluate outcomes. Operational and Strategic Responsibilities Participate actively in local and Trust-level meetings, feeding back relevant patient safety information. Support ward managers in addressing concerns raised by patients, visitors, and staff. Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and risk strategies. Deputise for the Lead Nurse for Risk and Governance when required. General Responsibilities Maintain contemporaneous professional records and adhere to Trust policies and procedures. Take responsibility for personal and professional development in line with NMC requirements. Work across multiple sites (Chelsea and West Middlesex) as required. Comply with mandatory vaccination requirements and any other Trust conditions of employment.
