Summary

To collect laundry from around the home on a regular basis.
To wash, dry and iron all laundry including bedding that is needed on a day to day basis.
To make sure that every individual item is put into their pigeon hole and in the residents rooms.
To make sure that clean and dirty washing is done separately and that heavily soiled things are sluiced first, prior to washing.
To replenish, should time allow, residents clothing and to replenish the trolleys and the linen cupboard.
To make sure that unnamed clothes are marked correctly.
If any article in the laundry is spoilt, it is brought to the attention of the Manager.
To be aware of the procedures relating to clean and dirty linen and To sort all garments, fabrics and linen into types for separate washing cycles
To wear protective clothing required. Carry out risk assessments in the laundry area.
To be responsible to the Manager and/or Care Assistant in charge. To work in the laundry without supervision.
To be aware of C.O.S.H.H regulations relating to the cleaning and washing substances.
To report any failure in the laundry as soon as it is noticed as to one above.
To undertake other duties, as necessary.
