Summary
We are seeking a reliable, compassionate Night Support Carer to provide overnight assistance (10.30pm to 6.30am) and support for an elderly lady with Parkinson’s. Nights to be discussed so must be flexible. The role involves ensuring her comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the night.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist with bedtime routine at 10.30 PM, including helping her to undress and settle into bed.
• Remain on-site overnight with access to a separate bedroom to rest.
• Be available to provide assistance during the night, particularly for safe bathroom trips, ensuring she does not fall (an alarm bell will be fitted in her bedroom to alert you when needed).
• In the morning, assist her with washing, dressing, and getting ready for the day.
• Prepare and serve breakfast (coffee, yogurt with fruit and honey, and toast with banana). Carer is welcome to join for breakfast.
• Prepare sandwiches for her lunch before the end of the shift.
Requirements
• Previous experience in a care or support role is desirable.
• Ability to provide patient, gentle, and respectful personal care.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to respond promptly when needed during the night.
• Basic food preparation skills.
• Good communication skills.
Additional Information
• A private bedroom will be provided for the carer during overnight shifts.
• Training and guidance regarding her specific needs will be given.

A Disclosure Barring Service Check (DBS) / criminal record check will require to be undertaken for this post. This will be completed on acceptance of job offer.
