Summary
Primary Teacher (SEMH Experience)
Location: Merseyside
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: ASAP or September 2026
Paragon Education is recruiting a resilient and dedicated Primary Teacher with SEMH experience to join a specialist provision in the Merseyside area. The setting supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them re-engage with education through structured learning, strong pastoral support and consistent routines.
This role is ideal for a teacher who is patient, confident and passionate about supporting children who require additional emotional and behavioural support to succeed.
Key responsibilities:
Planning and delivering engaging primary lessons tailored to individual needs
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs through structured routines and clear expectations
Implementing behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
Working closely with teaching assistants and pastoral staff
Monitoring pupil progress and supporting EHCP targets where required
Creating a safe, consistent and nurturing classroom environment
Requirements:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
Experience teaching in a UK primary setting
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
A calm, resilient and empathetic approach
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
