Summary

Your new company
You will be joining a leading national organisation responsible for delivering facilities management and accommodation maintenance services across a significant UK estate. Known for its commitment to quality, innovation and customer experience, the organisation operates with four core values at its heart: Open, Caring, Agile and Collaborative. Working within a supportive and forward‑thinking environment, you'll play a key role in ensuring homes are safe, compliant and ready for occupation.

Your new role
As a Void Maintenance Officer, you will take ownership of managing and protecting unoccupied homes across multiple estates within your assigned area. Working independently while supported by a Delivery Manager, you will ensure each empty property remains secure, compliant and in excellent condition throughout its void period. In this mobile role, you will:

  • Carry out detailed inspections when taking over or handing back a property
  • Produce clear photographic records and condition reports
  • Identify defects, complete rough scopes of works and flag improvement opportunities
  • Conduct regular security and safety checks, including risk assessments
  • Ensure the property remains weatherproof and compliant with statutory requirements
  • Maintain heating and water systems appropriately during void periods
  • Report unauthorised access, vandalism or security concerns immediately
  • Provide weekly and monthly updates and relay utility information to relevant teams

You will also work collaboratively with colleagues, external partners and supply chain teams to support operational efficiency and ensure each home exits void status in no worse condition than when it entered.

What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you will be:

  • Self‑motivated, happy to work independently and comfortable with lone working
  • Organised and detail‑focused, with pride in producing accurate reports and property records
  • Confident using digital tools, including Microsoft Office, tablets and mobile reporting systems

Essential requirements:

  • A full clean UK driving licence - daily travel is required across multiple sites
  • Willingness to cover wider locations to support team holiday cover

Beneficial (but not essential) experience:

  • Background in housing, property maintenance or void property management
  • Knowledge of MOD‑related environments
  • Understanding of areas such as asbestos awareness, disability access requirements or energy performance standards

What you'll get in return
This is a rewarding opportunity to join an organisation where your work has real impact. Every inspection you complete and every issue you resolve directly supports the wellbeing and safety of the families who rely on these homes.
You will benefit from:

  • A home‑based, mobile role offering independence and variety
  • Support from a collaborative and values‑led team
  • Opportunities to grow, develop and build your property maintenance expertise
