Skylight Psychiatry is a CQC-registered independent healthcare provider delivering specialist neurodevelopmental assessment and treatment services across England.
We provide evidence-based, person-centred care for individuals with ADHD, Autism and related neurodevelopmental conditions through digitally enabled clinical pathways supported by multidisciplinary teams and robust clinical governance frameworks.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our clinical team and provide senior clinical leadership within our neurodevelopmental pathway.
The Role:
The Consultant Psychiatrist is a senior clinical role responsible for delivering high-quality neurodevelopmental assessments and providing medical oversight within the service.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting adult ADHD and Autism diagnostic assessments in line with DSM-5 and NICE guidance
Completing diagnostic documentation and reports within agreed service timeframes
Initiating and overseeing ADHD medication management and titration where clinically indicated
Providing senior clinical oversight for complex or escalated cases within the pathway
Providing formal clinical supervision and oversight to Specialty Doctors and other non-consultant grade clinicians
Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical discussions
Contributing to clinical governance activities including audit, incident review and quality improvement initiatives
Supporting the ongoing development of clinical pathways and service delivery
Expected clinical activity is a minimum of four comprehensive diagnostic assessments per week, alongside associated documentation, supervision, governance and service development activities.
Person Specification:
Essential
GMC registered Consultant Psychiatrist
CCT in General Adult Psychiatry or Learning Disability Psychiatry
Section 12 approval (or eligibility)
Demonstrable experience in ADHD and/or Autism assessment and management
Strong understanding of safeguarding, risk management and clinical governance
Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
Strong communication skills and digital literacy
Desirable
Experience working within neurodevelopmental assessment services
Experience contributing to service development or pathway design
Understanding of CQC regulatory frameworks
Leadership, medical management or quality improvement training
Working Environment:
Skylight Psychiatry operates a digitally enabled clinical model supported by dedicated administrative, operational and governance teams. Consultants are supported by structured MDT processes and standardised assessment frameworks.
The role is predominantly remote, with occasional attendance at the Basingstoke head office (approximately 1–2 days per month).
