About the role

Manpower are recruiting on behalf of our client for a motivated Trainee Bid Writer to join their business as part of their Management Development Programme. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to develop a long-term career in commercial management, business development, and strategic growth within the green services sector.

The role offers valuable exposure to operational teams, estimating, finance, sustainability, and senior leadership, providing a strong foundation for future management progression and career development. The successful candidate will receive structured training, mentoring, and hands-on experience supporting the preparation of high-quality tenders and proposals across both public and private sector contracts.

Responsibilities with full training from Tender Team -

  • Support the preparation and submission of PQQs, SQs, ITTs, and tender responses
  • Research client organisations, contract requirements, and market opportunities
  • Draft clear, compelling, and compliant written responses
  • Coordinate information from operational, HSEQ, finance, and sustainability teams
  • Gather supporting evidence such as case studies, CVs, and documentation
  • Maintain and update the bid library and knowledge database
  • Assist with document formatting, proofreading, and quality control
  • Track submission deadlines to ensure timely delivery
  • Attend internal tender review and strategy meetings
  • Contribute to improving bid processes and documentation


What They Are Looking For

  • A confident written communicator with excellent grammar
  • Ambitious with a desire to build a career in commercial management or business development
  • Analytical and able to interpret technical information - Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working to deadlines & a collaborative team player
  • Proactive, motivated, and eager to learn


Skills & Experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Interest in business development and the green services sector
  • Degree (or working towards) in English, Business, Geography, Marketing, Environmental Management, or similar, advanatageous but not a must
  • Experience in administration, writing, marketing, or research is desirable
