Summary
The States of Guernsey are looking for a Support Worker to join the Short Breaks Service based at The Croft.
The post holder will be a member of a team that is based in the 7 bedded home. It provides short breaks and outreach support for children with learning disabilities. In addition to the home, we also provided support to children and young people in their own homes, local community and provide day care during the school holidays.
Staff work alongside colleagues, and this includes senior staff. There are frequent occasions however when they will work without direct supervision and are required to manage their own workload.
The post holder will work with children and family’s supporting vulnerable children and young people ensuring their general wellbeing needs are identified, met and maintained. They will be expected to carry out a wide range of duties as part of a team and independently to ensure a high level of quality care is delivered for the children.
The post holder will participate in providing and maintaining a homely environment promoting “Ordinary life Principles” respecting the dignity and rights of the children accessing the Short Breaks Service.
