We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the delivery of a high quality, safe, and customer focused integrated facilities service. You will be responsible for managing both hard and soft services, ensuring full compliance, developing strong client relationships, and driving continuous improvement across allocated sites. Job Description
As Facilities Manager, you will provide operational leadership to the onsite IFM team and act as the main point of contact for the client. You will ensure that all services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual obligations, KPIs, and SLAs. The role includes responsibility for technical infrastructure, soft services, compliance, staff performance, financial management, and ongoing service enhancement. You will build trusted relationships with stakeholders, maintain rigorous operational standards, and champion a positive safety culture throughout the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage integrated facilities operations including planned and reactive maintenance, asset management, engineering systems, and soft services
- Build proactive and trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders by being visible, communicative, and supportive
- Lead the contract management team to deliver and continuously develop the service model
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and promote a strong safety culture
- Maintain accurate and up to date documentation, maintenance records, and H&S materials
- Recruit, train, develop, and performance manage team members
- Deliver services within agreed budgets and financial targets, ensuring commercial responsibility
- Log and resolve customer queries and complaints in line with procedures
- Complete periodic reports and administrative tasks accurately and within deadlines
- Control costs effectively within delegated responsibilities
- Maximise additional revenue opportunities through ad hoc works and service proposals
- Ensure competency, compliance, and adherence to all relevant policies for all contract staff
- Conduct regular appraisals, development planning, and maintain succession plans
- Meet SLA and KPI targets, ensuring high quality and consistent service delivery
- Collaborate with wider business sectors to support organisational objectives and operational excellence
- Lead ongoing development and implementation of account development plans
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Strong management experience within facilities management, including both hard and soft services
- Strong understanding of building engineering systems such as HVAC, boilers, electrical, fire systems, BMS, water hygiene, and fabric maintenance
- Proven leadership and organisational skills with experience developing operational strategies
- Relevant FM qualification or working towards IWFM Level 4 or equivalent
- Experience managing technical infrastructure and assets
- Experience delivering soft workplace facilities services
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards
- Excellent stakeholder management capability, including during periods of change
- Strong customer focus and commercial awareness
- IWFM membership desirable
-IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
- Analytical mindset with confidence in processing data and meeting deadlines
- Ability to influence, build credibility, and drive performance and compliance
