Summary

HGV Technician / Mechanic | Black Bourton, Oxfordshire | Full Time | Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm (Saturday overtime available) | Competitive Salary

An established plant hire company with over 50 years of industry experience, providing high-quality plant and digger hire across the UK, is seeking an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic to maintain and repair their HGV fleet.

They take pride in delivering reliable, well-maintained equipment and exceptional service to their customers, prioritising safety and operational excellence.

This role is central to maintaining fleet reliability and supporting operational efficiency across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs (mechanical and electrical)
• Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs
• Conducting 6-weekly inspections
• Brake testing
• MOT preparation
• Ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant and roadworthy
• Maintaining accurate service records and completing all relevant PMI paperwork
• Working efficiently to minimise downtime across the fleet

About You

Essential

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic
• Strong mechanical knowledge, including servicing, maintenance and fault finding on HGVs
• Own tools required
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Desirable

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Class 2 (Category C) driving licence
