Summary

22 hours per week spread out over 4 days. Tuesday and Friday are essential working days, It is envisaged that days will be 5.5 hours daily (between 8.30am – 3pm).

We are looking for someone to provide a regular delivery service transporting books between Island libraries, and to deliver and collect other items as required for the Library and Heritage Service. The post holder will use a sack truck to transport crates of books and other large items (manual handling training will be provided).

Other duties will include assisting with practical operational and administration tasks daily across the Library and Heritage Service.

The successful candidate should have experience of driving a large van or vehicle. They will be responsible for ensuring that the vehicle driven is maintained through completion of daily checks, refuelling, vehicle cleanliness and reporting of any maintenance and repair issues to fleet management. An annual driving licence check will be carried out and the successful candidate will have to pass the Council driving assessment prior to appointment.
