DEPARTMENT: Sales & Administration
LOCATION :Comfort House, 8 Goresbrook Road, Dagenham, Essex RM9 6UR;
JOB TITLE: Insurance Advisor
JOB PURPOSE:
This role incorporates the selling, renewing and updating of policy details of all company products to existing and prospective clients
Assist in the provision of clerical and administration support to the Sales, Claims and Accounts Departments.
Carry out all business activity strictly within the rules and requirements of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
Undertake administration on current existing business
KEY TASKS:
Discussion with prospective and existing clients to obtain data about their needs, and to discuss any existing policy cover
Explain features, advantages and disadvantages of various policies to promote sale and renewal of insurance schemes
Ensure that policy requirements are fulfilled, and the completion of any appropriate forms
Calculate premiums using the system and establish payment method
Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining records, handling policy renewals, photocopying, processing mail, maintaining filing systems and updating information.
Select the product that offers type of cover best suited to the client’s needs and offer alternatives where appropriate
Attend training sessions to learn about new products and services and to maintain competencies in accordance with FCA requirements
Where appropriate, carry out other reasonably assigned tasks within the company
Use of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel
Answering telephones and liaising with staff, clients and other agencies to assist operational staff in the delivery of services
Retrieval of data from Client Information Database
To accurately input and process data from databases and spreadsheets
Ensure that all communications with insurers or customers are accurately recorded to the company database as per the company’s procedures
To accurately produce Green Cards, Jersey/Guernsey tax discs, Cover Notes as and when required
• To acknowledge and issue NCBs as and when required
• To work between the company’s ‘Info’ and ‘VM’ email accounts
• To assist the Sales team in answering phones when calls are queuing
• Ensure that policy requirements are fulfilled with the completion of any appropriate forms
• Explain features, advantages and disadvantages of the existing policy
• Calculate premiums and establish payment method
